B5GEMINI-AIUC

The B5GEMINI initiative is designed to create a Digital Twin Network tailored for the 5G core landscape and its progression toward 6G technologies. Within this framework, essential use cases regarding cybersecurity and network management are established, allowing network operators and telecommunications providers to collaborate. This cooperation facilitates the validation of novel functions prior to actual deployment or the emulation of current network conditions to assess the impact of implementing various operational policies.
B5GEMINI functions as a coordinated research project composed of two complementary sub-projects:
-
Project B5GEMINI-INFRA (TSI-063000-2021-81): Support infrastructure for B5G Digital Twins. This project supports the overall initiative by managing the Design, Deployment, and technical Support of the essential Digital Twin Network (DTN) infrastructure.
-
Project B5GEMINI-AIUC (TSI-063000-2021-79): Advanced components of AI/ML (Artificial Intelligence Machine Learning) and generation of Use Cases for the experimentation of B5G Digital Twins. This project contributes to the coordinated effort via two distinct tracks. The first involves the research and development of sophisticated AI/ML mechanisms capable of flexible integration into DTN components. The second addresses the design, development, and assessment of experiments within a DTN, derived from various specific use cases.
The MMB group leads the B5GEMINI-AIUC project, whose objective is the research and development of advanced AI/ML systems, as well as the design, development, and evaluation of experiments within the DTN generated from diverse use cases where these AI systems are integrated.
Funding for this project has been provided by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation alongside the European Union-NextGenerationEU, operating under the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.
